    Position Summary

    As the Data Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team in utilizing data analytics to optimize pharmacy benefit programs and drive business decisions within the healthcare industry. Your role will involve managing and analyzing vast amounts of data related to prescription claims, formulary management, drug utilization patterns, and cost containment strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including pharmacy operations, finance, operations, and client services to develop actionable insights that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of various data-driven pharmacy benefit programs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    Data Analysis and Interpretation
    • Lead the analysis of prescription claims data, formulary data, and other relevant healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Utilize advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling techniques to forecast drug utilization, cost trends, and potential savings opportunities.
    • Interpret analytical findings to provide actionable recommendations for optimizing pharmacy benefit programs and reducing costs while maintaining quality of care.
    Strategic Planning and Decision Support
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and refine strategies for formulary management, drug utilization management, and pharmacy network optimization.
    • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making processes related to benefit design, pricing strategies, and contracting negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies.
    Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the effectiveness and performance of pharmacy benefit programs.
    • Develop dashboards and reports to communicate analytical findings, performance trends, and program outcomes to internal stakeholders and clients.
    Team Leadership and Development
    • Manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and development.
    • Prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality analytical insights and reports.
    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
    • Collaborate with pharmacy operations, finance, actuarial, and client services teams to understand business objectives, requirements, and challenges.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on pharmacy benefit analytics, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external clients as needed.
    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
    • Proven experience in data analytics, preferably within the healthcare or pharmacy benefit management industry.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets, derive actionable insights, and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Experience with healthcare data sources, including pharmacy claims data, medical claims data, and electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and lead a team of analysts.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of pharmacy benefit management principles, practices, and industry trends is a plus.
