The ideal candidate will uphold all safety practices to prevent injury from unsafe work practices and conditions. They must report all safety hazards to management.

Maintaining plant sanitation and personal hygiene as outlined by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for food processing facilities is a critical responsibility.

This role requires the ability to follow all required work instructions, work aids, and forms as they pertain to Quality, Environment, Safety, and Food Safety.

The individual will have the authority and responsibility to support ISO-GFSI compliance, FDA-FSMA regulatory requirements, Food Safety & Quality programs implemented by the company. They may stop production if the product is out of compliance.

A thorough understanding of analytical procedures is necessary to perform analysis of incoming, in-process, and finished materials.

Certification to operate a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift) is required to move raw materials.

Laboratory equipment standardization and calibration, troubleshooting systems and processes, are essential responsibilities.

The successful candidate will participate in continuous improvement, lean practices, six sigma, 5S, food safety, environmental, and plant safety programs.

Requirements

• A minimum High School diploma or GED, with a bachelor's degree in science related field preferred.
• 1+ years prior production/manufacturing experience OR 2+ years lab technician experience.
• Mixing and Batching experience in the food/beverage industry is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with lab safety, handling hazardous materials, and ability to lift 65 pounds is necessary.
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Suite, is also required.
