    As a valued member of our team, you will assist the Sales Manager in developing a well-trained sales staff that meets or exceeds all sales quotas, increases market share and customer base while maintaining the highest ethical standards and observing company policies and procedures.


    Staff Management and Leadership
    • Meet and exceed established location sales quotas by utilizing effective strategies and techniques.
    • Collaborate with Sales Counselors to utilize training methods as set forth in manuals, adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Support the Sales Manager by providing initial and ongoing sales instruction to ensure Sales Counselors meet or exceed customer needs.
    • Help manage Sales Counselors by serving as their primary reference for the aftercare process, prospecting, product knowledge, sales presentations, closing skills, prices, terms, paperwork, sales guideline questions, compliance issues, and delivery of customer service.
    Market Share Growth
    • Contribute to the development of marketing programs tailored to the community's geography, demographics, ethnicity, or religions.
    • Analyze competitor pricing to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Plan and participate in community events to generate prospects and increase awareness of our location.
    Expense Management
    • Review pre-need contracts and at-need cemetery contracts to ensure compliance with HMIS, state/provincial, and federal laws.
    • Approve discounts offered to customers, ensuring alignment with financial controls.
    • Prepare reports demonstrating compliance with financial controls.
    Operations Support
    • Maintain marketing materials, training manuals, sales equipment, and other sales supplies.
    • Ensure sales programs, incentives, and awards conform to company policies.
    • Maintain sales rooms and offices in a clean and orderly fashion to provide a professional atmosphere.
    Compliance
    • Ensure Sales Counselors adhere to the Code of Conduct and obtain necessary licensure.
    • Verify compliance of sales practices with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
    Minimum Requirements

    Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
    Experience
    • Sales experience is not mandatory, but Sales Counselor and supervisory experience are beneficial.
    • Prior experience presenting, training, coaching, and motivating sales teams is a plus.
    Licenses
    • Valid state/province driver's license with a good driving record.
    • Insurance license as required by state/province law and prescribed by each state board.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Working knowledge of Windows-based PC environment and MS Office applications.
    • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems is a plus.
    • Able to maintain confidentiality and work beyond standard business hours when necessary to serve customers.
    • Able to set goals for employees that are challenging yet achievable.
