    Position Title: Construction Coordinator

    The client is seeking a Construction Coordinator with 0-6 years of experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will primarily be assigned to the company's construction sites. Experience working as a project engineer or estimating in the industrial construction field is a plus.

    The company is a multi-discipline consulting engineering and construction management firm specializing in the design, construction, commissioning, and performance testing of power generation, energy resiliency, combined heat and power, renewable energy, and central heating and chilling facilities. The company prides itself on being a leader in advancing new and emerging energy production technologies and developing ways to bring them to commercial application.

    Reports to: Construction Manager

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist with or perform duties on-site required to coordinate, administer, monitor, record, update and manage the contract, cost, schedule, documents, and correspondence for assigned projects.
    • Manage, control, and distribute documentation relating to submittals, RFIs, drawings, specifications, correspondence, and all other project related documents.
    • Support estimating efforts by pre-qualifying bidders for contract packages, writing scopes of work, soliciting pricing, performing take-offs, and compiling pricing information.
    • Perform technical management of one or more subcontractors on a project site.
    • Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.
    • Monitor contractors and review submittals to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, and testing meet the requirements of the QA/QC Program and project schedule.
    • Perform interpretation of drawings and specifications and recommend construction methods and equipment as required.
    • Perform purchasing support for site general conditions and materials.
    • Calculate/prepare various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis.
    • Review subcontractor works in progress and develop short interval schedules to support master schedules.
    • Perform tasks related to the collection of cost data required to monitor project budgets and estimates.
    • Prepare portions of contract estimates and review change orders for assigned disciplines.
    • Review subcontractor and vendor invoices.
    • Maintain records documenting subcontractors' performance to provide input to other departments for cost and schedule, performance evaluations, etc.
    • Assist with or perform development and publication of project turnover documents.
    • Assist with or perform punch list documentation.
    • Assist with implementation, administration, and interpretation of safety programs.
    • Ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction
    • Maintains high professional and construction ethics.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction and with minimal supervision.
    • Update and maintain historical data for estimating and subcontractor contacts.
    • Continually look for opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
    • Maintain all necessary licensing requirements.
    • Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's license.

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

    • BS in Engineering discipline or Construction Management or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
    • Outstanding attention to detail.
    • Prompt and accurate judgement.
    • Solution oriented.
    • General/developing knowledge of various construction disciplines and procedures required.
    • General/developing knowledge of purchasing, finance, engineering, and project controls principles.
    • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and planning skills.
    • Proficiency with Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Proficiency in use of job applicable software.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • The position will provide regular opportunities for overnight travel, and it may offer extended stay durations and/or long-term residency options.
    • Projects are typically industrial in nature and may require work inside power plants, food processing areas, manufacturing areas, outdoors, etc.
    • Some climbing, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
    • Some lifting up to 50 lbs.
