    The anticipated salary range for this role is between $41.00 and $66.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.     Role Description

    SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. is an interest rates derivatives trading company based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong Kong. We are a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), one of the leading global banks in Japan. Our Capital Markets business is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange. We have been in operation for more than 30 years and we are a leading market-maker in several markets.

    The Settlements Specialist (Analyst) will be immersed in a fast-paced environment in daily settlement processing involving pre-settlement reconciliation including the following products: FX, Interest rate swaps, Caps, Non-deliverable FX and Swaps.

    The Derivative Operations Group handles operations for Capital Markets. This ranges from management of cash and liquidity, the settlement cycle of all products across Capital Markets and collateralization. Settlements is a fast-paced environment in daily settlement processing in FX, Interest rate swaps, Caps, non-deliverable FX and swaps as well securities including US Treasuries and Canadian Treasuries. The team actively manages pre and post settlement inquiries while monitoring settlement risk. There is a focus on staying current with industry standards and regulations and an emphasis on related projects.

    Role Objectives

  • Daily processes will focus on payment affirmation of cashflows with clients.
  • Responsibilities will include review of upcoming cashflows, communicating this information to clients and tracking of responses.
  • Additional tasks will include follow-up and escalation of differences.
  • Projects may include automation and testing of this process.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.
  • 2-5 years of relevant Settlements experience required.
  • Settlements payment investigations and Swift experience a plus.
  • Team player ability with good analytical skills and attention to detail; time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
