    Description


    The Payroll Supervisor at K-Five Construction will work with the Controller and is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and processing payroll operations.

    Duties and responsibilities
    Oversee procedures and processes, and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
    Prepare employee wage summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, retirement savings and benefits.
    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
    Oversight of Trucking timecard management in Fleetwatcher.
    Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately.
    Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    Maintain employee records up-to-date and accurate.
    Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
    Address payroll related queries and requests from employees.
    Develop best practices to improve efficiency of payroll processes.
    Processing of weekly/monthly reports; transmittals of such documentation to various agencies and departments.
    Processing of fringe benefit contributions to various unions.
    Manages two roles that support payroll functions.
    Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and/or minimum 5+ years of experience processing weekly payroll for mid-size to large company; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Union payroll experience a plus.
    Requires the ability to maintain control over confidential information and documentation.
    Strong computer skills including MS Excel, with ability to develop spreadsheets and formulas; experience using payroll processing software preferred.
    Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work in fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
    Must have a positive demeanor and be a team player.
    HR knowledge and/or experience working within the road construction industry is preferred.
