Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite
Overview
Are you highly data driven, analytical, and comfortable working with large, complex data sets? Our Billing Specialist is a crucial member of our Finance team, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of our billing operations by leveraging data analytics and process oversight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem solving, technology, and data—not just accounting.
In this role, you'll handle a variety of billing tasks, research and respond to inquiries, maintain accurate data, and assist with special projects. You'll also work closely with team members and business partners to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and excellent service.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and Reconcile Large Data Sets: Review billing and account data for discrepancies, identify trends, and resolve inconsistencies through deep data analysis.
- Process Improvement: Work proactively with the team to streamline, automate, and enhance billing processes.
- Reporting: Generate reports and audit trails to support billing accuracy and business needs; escalate issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- System Support & Troubleshooting: Support technology tools and assist with business audits.
- Stakeholder Support: Respond to questions from internal teams and advisors, clarifying details and supporting with data-driven insights.
- Special Projects: Participate in or lead projects involving data or process transformation.
Experience You'll Bring
- Previous professional experience working with problem resolution, data analytics, or technology
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to independently manage projects/tasks while navigating a variety of competing priorities
- Confident, professional and articulate in written and verbal communication; ability to build a rapport with all personality types and all levels of staff
- Strong organizational skills; capacity to manage heavy workload while navigating a variety of competing, ever changing priorities
- Resourceful in solving problems and maximizing resourcesStrong attention to detail
- Ability to working independently, but also as a collaborative team member
Bonus Points
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of financial services operations experience
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam or willing to obtain within first 6 months
- Orion, or other portfolio management system experience
