In this role, the Career Fitter/Welder:

Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding.

Tack-welds pieces together.

Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weld able materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.

May lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. Observes all standard safety practices, maintains, and completes all required records. Follow all safety committees or initiatives. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. P erforms other duties as assigned.


Qualifications What you'll need:

• 2 years of related experience Hand wells in all positions groove and fillet. Performs repairs to subassemblies for final product. Performs oxyfuel welding. Performs carbon arc welding. Conducts one or two NDE tests. Performs as Level 2 Fitter/Welder Welds to stainless and carbon steel may repair aluminum. Performs TIG welding (stainless & aluminum) Please include any certifications, training or relevant experience and complete details of your work history on your application; need to list at least last 2 employers in application, if applicable.
