Healthcare Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
Healthcare Setting: 10 BSH Stroke Unit (Neuro Stepdown/PCU)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Hours per Week: 36
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Orientation: 24 hours
Floating: Required to float to other units within the healthcare organization as needed

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state RN license
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS certification preferred
EPIC charting experience required
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
Two professional references required (at least one from a supervisor/manager or charge RN)
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients on a specialized stroke and neuro stepdown unit
Monitor and manage patients with neurological diagnoses: stroke, craniotomy, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgery care
Administer and titrate cardiac drips; manage central/PICC/arterial lines; provide wound care
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; administer blood products; follow heparin protocols
Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation and patient management
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
Float to other units within the healthcare organization as needed
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
