Job Description
BeVera is a leading services provider for the CDC in Atlanta, GA.

This Web Application Support Specialist will provide leadership and IT expertise to the CDCs National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.

Specifically, the individual will oversee the centers primary web-based data system which is used to collect and report on the nations Opioid drug overdose crisis.

In this role, the Web Application Support Specialist will perform the following:

• Provide leadership and senior expertise to health informatics scientists and other scientific experts in the design, development, implementation, testing, and monitoring of changes to the web-based reporting system, including how it can interface with relevant external health databases.
• Conduct post-implementation evaluation of operational informatics systems to measure their overall effectiveness in meeting stated objectives and to identify any problems.
• Perform IT analysis, design and programming to support the programming infrastructure and integrated applications of informatics development.
• Participate in discussions related to 1) resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; 2) ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency; and 3) implementing security procedures and tools.
• Perform analysis on informatics information and recommend changes to improve user friendliness of applications and to resolve what users see as problems.
• Actively participate in one or more concurrent project teams, whose members may include statisticians, health informatics scientists, administrative function specialists, public health advisors, management analysts, and other IT specialists.
