    Job Purpose:

    Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team.

    The Digital & Data Business Planning Department is tasked with navigating the strategy and execution for Honda's future digital services. The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by developing new businesses, features, products, and services in the digital domain with responsibility for their customer value, competitiveness, and profitability for Honda in North America.

    This Sr. Business Development Specialist in the Data Business team will work with the connected car data business development team in the space of transportation, urban planning, marketing, and finance.

    You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing novel mobility data business that goes beyond traditional automotive-centric ecosystems, aligning with corporate initiatives.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Domain Expertise: Understand connected vehicle data availability, insights, value, and applications. Collect internal stakeholders and external partners' data requirements to make recommendations for future data collection platforms.
    • Market Analysis: Identify, synthesize, and communicate key trends across industries, segments regions, and competitors. Ability to provide insightful, data-driven strategic recommendations to leadership. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, provide feedback and a deep understanding of external environmental factors.
    • Project Management: Execution of strategic initiatives in a well-defined, highly organized, and effective manner. Monitor progress of deployed projects and identify required changes using metrics, roadmaps, dashboards, and financials.
    • Strategic Partnerships / Business Development: Explore and lead new strategic partnership opportunities that alignment with corporate initiatives. Create and execute compelling business plan. Negotiate complex agreements with partners.
    • Data Privacy: Support the data business development unit as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data privacy. Align with Honda's Data Privacy Group to ensure the business unit's compliance and roadmap strategy.

    Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

    • Bachelors degree is required, ideally with a major in Business, Marketing, or engineering-related field or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
    • 6+ years of experience in a business role: business development, strategic partnerships, product management, product marketing, partner management, sales, or consultant.
    • 3+ years of experience in mobility, transportation, civil engineering, finance, fintech, software as a service, and/or IoT.
    • 3+ years of experience in identifying, negotiating, and closing successful large-scale and complex partnerships.
    • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and work at strategic and tactic levels simultaneously.
    • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts.
    • Desire to Continuously Acquire Knowledge in Internet of Things (IoT), Data, Mobility, and related business-to-business ecosystem.
    • Exceptional communication ability that positively impacts both technical and non-technical stakeholders with diverse cultural backgrounds
    • Ability to thoroughly understand corporate initiatives and team policies, take initiative in action, consistently provide updates to stakeholders, and readily accept advice.
