    ***Part-Time Corporate Internship Transportation Specialist***

    **Ministerial Character**

    The principal is the visible foundation of the school which the Bishop has entrusted to the principal. The principal makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the school. In order to fulfill this mission, the principal employs suitable, chosen collaborators. The principal shares with them Christ's mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

    Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the principal in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the principal in the performance of the principal's ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

    **Job Description**

    San Juan Diego Catholic High School, just south of downtown Austin, is looking for a part-time transportation specialist to transport students to-and-from their Corporate Internship (work-study) sites. Starting pay is $30.00 per route (approximately $15.00/hour) Routes are approximately 7:45 to 9:30 am and 3:15 to 5:15 pm. Extra driving assignments available, including field trips and athletics.

    **Duties:**

    Operates school vehicle in a safe and efficient manner--being attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers.

    Ensures that their vehicle is operating properly each day by inspecting the brakes, tires and other mechanical components.

    Follows all traffic laws and is in compliance with Federal and Texas motor vehicle regulations. Drives all routes exactly as designated in writing.

    Responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies.

    Maintains daily travel logs including the amount of fuel used and miles driven, which is turned in weekly to the Transportation Coordinator. Reports all accidents, vehicle damage, and student injuries to the Director of Transportation.

    May include light lifting under 40 lbs.

    **Minimum Qualifications:**

    Must be at least 25 years of age.

    Applicant must be certified as per the following: a valid State of Texas issued driver's license and/or valid State of Texas commercial driver's license (CDL). A CDL is preferred. San Juan Diego will assist in obtaining your CDL if you desire

    Must be an insured driver.

    This position requires understanding of Texas motor vehicle laws.

    Applicant must be able to read and write in English.

    Applicant must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with school officials. Applicant must foster an environment of cooperation and respect with the students.

    A motor vehicle record check and a criminal background check will be performed.

    Applicant must complete a Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity Ministry (EIM) Workshop.

    Applicant must complete a certified Bus Driver Safety Course with Region 13.

    (SJD will pay for this training)

    *Certifications and Training:*

    Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
