As part of your work within EIX's Corporate Finance team, you will collaborate closely with senior management and members of the finance and strategy teams not only at EIX, but also at each of EIX's major subsidiaries Southern California Edison (SCE) and Edison Energy.
Your responsibilities will largely consist of forecasting and analyzing the financial performance of a company with consolidated revenues of over $16 billion in 2023.
Core monthly assignments may include:
projecting EIX cash flows and financing requirements, forecasting current year consolidated earnings, and evaluating year-to-date consolidated financial performance among other activities.
Additionally, you will be involved in the long-term planning and annual budgeting processes, including evaluation of EIX's capital structure, dividend policies, and credit profile, in support of decision making by senior leaders and ultimately the EIX Board of Directors.
A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine brightLead variance analyses across EIX and its subsidiaries, understanding and monitoring key updates in cash forecast, and working with counterparts to understand root causation of variances.
Evaluate historical and project consolidated financial results of the corporate entity and its subsidiaries.Collaborate across multiple departments within EIX and its subsidiaries to maintain and improve financial models.
Prepare and collaborate in the development of presentation materials for senior management, the EIX Board of Directors and other key collaborators.
Perform ad-hoc financial analyses including the development of financial models and present key findings.Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct financial research and/or economic analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and benchmarking of companies.
Support ongoing business activities and potential strategic transactions applying critical thinking, problem solving skills, and financial analysis knowledge.
Qualifications
The EssentialsOne or more years of experience in financial, quantitative, or operational analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPointThe PreferredBachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
Financial modeling and/or valuation, including creation and analysis of the three financial statements.
Finance or accounting experience in a utility or other regulated industry setting.
Completion and/or in pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I, II or III, AFP FP&A Certification, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ, and/or other financial data and valuation tools.Experience utilizing financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to craft, analyze, and draw conclusions from business data.
Proven time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and adapt to high paced working environment.
Experience performing ad-hoc analysis, including identifying client needs, gathering relevant information from appropriate stakeholders, analyze, prioritize, and presenting.
