DescriptionPosition Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within the store replenishment distribution center, ensuring a safe, accurate, and efficient flow of goods to retail locations. This role oversees safety, operational planning, accuracy, and cost-per-unit performance while motivating and developing team members. The ideal candidate is an energetic multitasker with excellent communication skills who can influence positive outcomes despite challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety across all operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, meetings, and training to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Operational Planning & Execution
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily workflows to support timely and accurate store replenishment.
- Balance labor, equipment, and resources to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational best practices.
Performance & Accuracy
- Monitor and improve performance metrics including accuracy, throughput, and cost per unit.
- Analyze productivity reports and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.
People Leadership
- Supervise, train, and develop associates to ensure high performance and career growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
Communication & Problem-Solving
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with leadership, associates, and cross-functional partners.
- Anticipate and resolve operational challenges with a focus on achieving positive outcomes.
- Influence and motivate others to embrace changes and overcome obstacles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in distribution, warehousing, or retail replenishment environment.
- Proven ability to manage productivity, accuracy, and cost-based performance metrics.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in multitasking and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- ERP and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience at a power user level, with ability to analyze data and optimize system functionality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement background.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.
- Experience with labor management systems and cost-per-unit analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP and WMS reporting, dashboards, and troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and reach overhead with or without accommodations.
- Comfortably working in a dynamic warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak periods such as holidays or promotional events.
