    The Radiation Therapist is the treatment heart of the clinical team.

    Providing direct electron beam therapy to patients with skin cancers in the outpatient environment, the Radiation Therapist will enjoy close relationships with patients and staff.

    Essential Functions


    • Works under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist
    • Explains treatment plans to the patient and answer questions about treatment
    • Follows safety procedures to protect the patient and themselves from overexposure to radiation; examines machines to make sure they are safe and working properly
    • Check computer programs to make sure the machine will give the correct dose of radiation to the appropriate area of the patient's body
    • Administers the prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts by positioning patients accurately according to the prescription, and operating and adjusting the radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
    • Reviews prescriptions, diagnoses, patient charts, and identification.
    • Monitors the patient to check for unusual reactions to the treatment.
    • Documents detailed treatment records in the patient EHR, schedules daily treatments, follows up with patients for appointments, and assists the Chief RTT as requested.
    • Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks
    Travel

    Some daytime travel will be required for this position to help cover local clinics. No overnight trips. This is a Per Diem Position.
