- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including regular and therapeutic diet entrees.
- Perform roasting, broiling, baking, frying, grilling, boiling, steaming, and stewing meats.
- Independently prepare soups, stocks, broths, gravies and sauces without the use of package mixes.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas in sanitary conditions by sweeping and mopping floors; washing and sanitizing refrigerators, freezers, work surfaces, tables and utensils; and cleaning kettles, ranges, ovens, and other equipment.
- Operate various mixers, steamers, steam kettles, ovens and other electrical and/or mechanical equipment.
- Cook foods to proper temperatures and maintain proper food temperatures during holding, transport, re-heating, and serving to assure quality control and food safety.
