    Description

    Position Summary: Responsibilities include the process to receive incoming merchandise/products for internal and external distribution. Oversee department operations to ensure timely receipt of merchandise, inventory control, quality of service, and adherence to policies and procedures.


    Essential Job Functions:


    • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products and merchandise to storage locations.
    • Efficiently process and document incoming merchandise.
    • Coordinate, manage, and maintain inventory of incoming products and merchandise.
    • Record and verify receipts of incoming shipments of materials and supplies to ensure accurate and timely internarial distribution.
    • Coordinate with inbound/outbound carriers on pick-ups, deliveries, and claims. Inspect incoming goods for damage.
    • Pick up incoming mail each morning from the post office.
    • Coordinate with vendors, customers, and other departments to schedule deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
    • Stay up to date on company policies and procedures regarding receiving, shipping, and handling of hazardous materials.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations to protect oneself, fellow employees, and company assets.
    • Use equipment such as pallet jacks to move large quantities of products.
    • Keep work areas clean and organized to facilitate a safe and efficient work environment.
    • Assist in training new employees on proper receiving procedures.
    • Perform physical inventories and cycle counts of products and materials on a regular basis.
    • Pick, pack, and ship orders.
    • Maintain order and inventory accuracy while restocking picking inventory. Add, subtract, divide and multiplication utilized.
    • Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. - _this position is_ _not_ _a remote or telecommute position._
    • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
    • Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.

    Non-Essential Job Functions:


    • Operate postal, UPS, and all shipping systems. Being able to assist and train other team members.
    • Assist in daily cycle count and year-end inventory process.
    • Maintain and run reports, as required.
    • Cross train in all distribution department functions to support and assist other members of the team, as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education:


    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

    Experience:


    • Six months minimum experience in a shipping or distribution environment.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn to properly operate postal and UPS systems within a designated period of time and learn department processes timely.
    • Basic math skills including ability to easily add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Skills testing administered as part of the initial interview process.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with members of a team.
    • Solid hand to eye coordination, maintaining repetitive motion and mindful of quality assurance.
    • Detail-oriented demonstrating ability to meet strict deadlines and learn new processes.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and become certified under the organization's lift truck training program.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


    • Associate degree or higher.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a receiving, warehouse, or similar role.
    • Experience with inventory management software.
    • Certification in OSHA standards.
    • Forklift and pallet jack certification.

    Computer Skills
    : Basic knowledge of PC systems and keyboarding skills.
