This position can be based at any of Expeditors greater Seattle office locations:
Downtown Seattle, Lynnwood, Bellevue, Federal Way.
Job Description

The SALT Director will have primaryresponsibility for state and local tax compliance and tax accounting including income, property, sales and use and gross receipts taxes.

This position will provide technical guidance within the tax department and as it relates to the operation of the business.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBLILITIES:
Lead the income tax process for state and local income tax returns in approximately 40 states and 10+ local jurisdictions for Expeditors International of Washington and its subsidiariesManage the process for all other taxes including sales and use, gross receipts and property taxesReview and apply changes in state and local laws as they apply to income and other taxesApply ASC 740 as it relates to state tax provisionsManage state and local tax controversyReview state tax return to provision reconciliations and related journal entriesMentor and develop employees in all areas of state and local taxationImplement process improvements for the state and local tax group to provide efficiencies for the teamQualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in AccountingCertified Public Accountant10+ years' experience in tax compliance in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industryAbility to organize/analyze data, interpret results and develop solutionsGood interpersonal/communication skills, both oral and writtenAttention to detail; thorough and reliableAdditional Information

Expected base salary:
