    Job Summary

    We are seeking a skilled Surface Preparation Technician to join our team at Robinson. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing parts for painting by hanging, cleaning, and masking.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Hang parts using hooks and racks to ensure proper positioning for paint application
    • Clean part surfaces using Alkaline cleaners, Pretreatments, or solvents to remove dirt and debris
    • Mask treads and plug holes as required to prevent paint from entering these areas
    • Handle products safely using forklifts, cranes, or carts to move them around the facility
    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure it remains in good working order
    • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet customer specifications
    • Drop parts to pallets or dry racks once paint is dry
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company standards
    • Enter times and close jobs on a computer after completion

    Requirements

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in parts hanging or washing and paint prep is a plus
    • Ability to read blueprints and understand technical drawings
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
    • Adherence to ISO procedures and strong sense of safety
    • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to measure areas for masking
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch
