  • Job Summary
  • This position will assist with leading the Coding Quality team which includes the Inpatient, Outpatient and Professional Coding Auditors under the direction of the Coding Quality Supervisor. The Team Lead will lead the day to day running of the coding audit team for both acute and ambulatory services for CoxHealth. The Team Lead working with the Coding Quality Supervisor will be responsible for leading, developing and supporting the team while ensuring coding compliance and education across the department. They must utilize knowledge of current coding guidelines, regulations and payer rules to support audit processes and standards. The Team Lead will work closely with the coding leadership team to assist in education and feedback for coding department. Will assist with monthly audits as needed, scheduling of the audits/training and developing the ongoing efforts
  • Job RequirementsEducation Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience Required: Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience with physician, diagnosis or hospital coding Skills Detailed knowledge of coding guidelines and the ability to apply coding guidelines when reviewing documentation in the medical record. Ability to provide instructions and advice to the Inpatient, Outpatient and Professional Auditors/Coders based on coding guidelines. Ability to serve as the Coding expert working with the Coding Auditors. Must have experience with detailed knowledge of the format, functions, and use of the medical record. Detailed knowledge of MS-DRG's, APC's and CMS rules/regulations. Detailed knowledge of LCD/NCD information pertaining to Medical Necessity. Ability to perform computer data entry. Ability to work with others and communicate effectively. Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS, COC, CIC or CPC
