    Duties




    • Training Instruction - Responsible for the integration process to determine a new maintainer's proficiency and corresponding maintainer designation. Oversees the initial integration counseling event that includes but is not limited to the Aircrew Maintenance Training Program (AMTP), hangar orientation, local area orientation, basic expectations, and TUASOF responsibilities. Executes and manages the Commanders Aviation Maintenance Training Program and the Commanders Aviation and Standardization Program for UAS Crewmembers. Trains and evaluates all UAS Air Crew Member (ACM) for the Crew Chief Training Program (CCTP). Responsible for progression, currency and sustainment of ACM's. Develops Critical Task List (CTL) for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in supported units. Ensures all tasks on the CTL's are up to date and in line with current equipment and Unit Mission Essential Task List (METL). Serves as the primary AMTP trainer and evaluator for the TUASOF. Acts as the advisor to unit Commanders on the management of the AMTP and maintenance level of unit members.
    • Flight Operations - Responsible for the safe execution of all MOS specific flight line operations necessary to meet mission requirements for the applicable UAS assigned to the TUASOF. Responsible for all flight line operational support to include Site support coordination, generator and vehicle fueling operations, site maintenance, work orders, runway lighting supplies, maintaining the crash kit, FOD prevention, runway maintenance and other support tasks as directed. Responsible for runway inspection and or unmanned aircraft vertical takeoff surface preparation. Ensures daily FOD (Foreign Object Debris) walk is conducted to clear large rocks, tools, and other debris that would create a hazard to operations. Ensures that only designated mission essential personnel will approach to within 50 feet of an UA that has been inspected for flight operations. Attends all Mission Briefs to communicate and coordinate runway operations with flight crews. Ensures the unmanned aircraft is flight worthy and is current on maintenance servicing and inspections. With the flight crew present determines whether the available flight time for mission requirements will be impacted by fuel or servicing requirements.
    • Administrative - Responsible for the preparation and management of forms and records required to manage maintenance, control the use, and report warranty actions and deficiencies on UAS and associated ground support equipment. Responsible for managing the TUASOF AMTP records. Provides commanders a complete and continuous performance record on each maintainer. Ensures records reflect the performance of specific individuals at all times and serve as the commander's AMTP subject matter expert. Ensures DA Form 3513 is prepared and maintained for each maintainer who is conducting maintenance, service, modifications, or inspections to any aircraft or component. Responsible for in processing new Maintainers ensuring Maintainers present their training records to the commander or the commander's designated representative within 14 calendar days of arrival at the unit. Responsible for maintaining historical files of each maintainer who undergoes any change of duty station for one year. Conducts inspections of all TUASOF shops by random sampling or directed inspections while work is in progress. Inspections also conducted in applicable areas such as flight-lines, field sites.
    • Aircraft Maintenance - Provides technical assistance on all UAS maintenance matters to UAS operators, UAS maintenance crews or contractor support personnel. Coordinates and recommends solutions to any difficulty encountered having to do with maintenance techniques, work accomplished, technical compliance with directives, or any other support requirements needed. Functions as the primary UAS maintenance liaison between the State Army Aviation officials, NGB, PM-UAS, and Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) personnel for issues pertaining to UAS maintenance parts, repairs and documentation issues. Performs Quality Assurance (QA) inspections and evaluations of unit or facility performed unmanned aircraft system maintenance and repair, in support of organizational, intermediate, and/or depot maintenance on the UAS equipment set assigned to the unit or facility. Monitors test equipment and special tools for calibration and serviceability. Ensures work area is free from unserviceable, unauthorized or unidentifiable parts and only authorized, serviceable tools are used for UAS repair. Stores red tagged parts in clearly marked location. Conducts Inspections on Army unmanned aircraft systems and any components as a part of or separate from the end­ items.
