Majestic Steel is excited to add a Plant Manager to our team The Plant Manager will be accountable for all service center operations, production and performance through planning, coordinating and evaluation of the service center activities and its associates.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about engaging staff in continuous improvement initiatives and is driven to achieve operational excellenceResponsibilities:
Plans and leads improvement projects aligned towards site goals and objectivesResolves production problems and implements solutions in an effective and timely mannerEnsures associate management including staffing, scheduling, associate development and performance managementImplements and manages continuous improvement initiatives and activitiesLeads service center to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goalsImplements and ensures operations metrics are well knownExhibits and promotes behaviors on the service center floor that leads to an engaged workforceImplements company policies such as attendance, overtime, safety, etc.
and directs the application of such policies to the service centerManages safety procedures in accordance with company and OSHA guidelinesOversees equipment utilization and compliance to determined targets and operation objectivesControllable cost management for assigned operationsSafety culture implementation and associate engagement complianceQuote vs actual performance initiatives and production management oversightOther job related duties and special projects as assignedEducation, Training and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in operations management or related field or equivalent work experienceFive (5) years of operations management experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Steel or manufacturing industry experienceTechnologically savvy and experience working with Microsoft Office products and Windows-based applicationsKnowledge, Skills andAbilities Requirements:
Highly articulate verbal and written communication skills, professional appearance and presentation styleAbility to clearly convey information and ideas with all levels of the organizationCreative, innovative and strategic thinker with proven problem resolution skills and process improvement techniquesHighly motivated self-starter, able to prioritize projects, accept responsibility and follow through without close supervisionStrong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projectsSense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environmentAbility to monitor and evaluate associate performance, establish work priorities, delegate tasks, and train associates in proper policies, procedures and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's DegreeEight (8) years of experience in an operations management role in steel or manufacturing industry
Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversees all associates assigned to the area.
Responsible for hiring, retention, development and performance management for the areaAdditional:
Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as neededMust be able to travel occasionally and work at an outside location
