    Job Summary

    A vital rural healthcare facility in the HHSC Kauai Region, is seeking an exceptionally versatile

    Multi-Modality Ultrasound Technologist . Because this is a rural critical access environment, the facility requires a "triple-threat" technologist who is fully competent and ARDMS-certified in

    General, Vascular, and Echocardiography .

    You will provide essential diagnostic imaging for a diverse patient population, moving independently between routine abdominal scans, complex vascular studies, and cardiac echos.

    Key Responsibilities


    General Sonography:
    Perform comprehensive diagnostic studies including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and pelvic ultrasounds.

    Vascular Studies:


    Execute high-quality vascular exams, including Carotid Duplex, venous mappings, and Arterial Doppler studies to assess blood flow and identify obstructions.


    Echocardiography:
    Conduct adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) to evaluate cardiac structure, valvular function, and ejection fraction.

    Independent Operation:
    Act as the sole technologist during night or on-call shifts, managing all modalities without immediate supervision.

    Clinical Documentation:
    Utilize

    Cerner

    EMR and PACS systems to document findings and archive diagnostic images for radiologist and cardiologist review.

    Multi-Site Coverage:
    Maintain flexibility to work at both Kauai Veteran's Memorial Hospital (KVMH) and Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH) as needed.
    Requirements & Qualifications


    Experience:
    Minimum

    3 years

    of experience in Ultrasound.

    Certifications (Hard Requirement):
    ARDMS Registered

    in

    General

    (AB/OB).
    ARDMS Registered

    in

    Vascular

    (RVT).
    ARDMS Registered

    in

    Echocardiography

    (RDCS).

    BLS
    (AHA) – Required.


    On-Call Residency:
    When on-call, you must reside within

    20 minutes

    of the hospital to ensure emergency response times.

    Modality Mastery:
    Proven experience and competence in all three modalities are non-negotiable for this rural setting.

    Significant on-call requirement; flexibility is essential.

    Holiday Pay:
    Paid for hours worked on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

    Island Logistics:
    Once confirmed, clinicians must provide their arrival date on the island via the Medefis portal.
