    Description

    Position Summary:


    While the primary focus of this role is on Safety (approximately 70%), additional responsibilities exist in the areas of quality, environmental, and health and will involve collaboration with other subject matter experts in those areas.

    Knowledge of all four areas is required.

    Duties include but are not limited to:
    Implementing Quality Control testing for product/process verification
    Developing and implementing Safety training for the employees
    Maintains safety training matrix
    Responsible for safety onboarding of new employees
    Continuously assisting in the reduction of the possibilities of deviations internally and externally
    Assisting in 6s and lean manufacturing practices
    Developing and assisting in the accomplishment of KPI's
    Verifying continuous compliance to ISO 9001
    Creating/reviewing/updating quality documents
    Initiating/implementing/verifying corrective actions
    Helping with the creation of risk assessments/PPE requirements
    Overseeing the calibration system
    Periodic reporting of plant status related to Quality
    Preparing Management Review
    Assisting in ergonomic studies/improvements
    Organizing regular safety audits for compliance to OSHA and internal requirements
    Participating in safety committee meetings
    Organizing the training in skilled operations (industrial equipment operation, confined space)
    Verifying compliance to local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements

    Requirements

    Minimum 4-year Technical Degree or commensurate level of work-related experience.
    3-5 years Management experience
    Experience in industrial manufacturing
    Experience in Lean manufacturing (including Kaizen, 6S, SPC, Gemba)
    Solid understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001), OSHA, EPA/DEP regulations.
    Six Sigma Green, Yellow, or Black belt
    CQM or CQA preferred
    Certificate in food safety desired
    Travel 25% for interplant audits
