Job Description

A Service Writer must provide support to drivers, mechanics and office teams daily as outlined below.

1. Write-up drivers repair needs
2. Communicate with the Maintenance Department, Drivers and Driver Managers through the repair process
3. Advise customers of the required repair and cost estimates
4. Communicate through email, work order, and verbal explanation
5. Create, Detail, Close, and Review work orders
6. Communicate repair needs to obtain proper approval, for repairs, when needed
7. Manage inventory stock levels
8. Core and part credit returns
9. Issue purchase orders
10. Work in unison with onsite repair providers to prioritize pressing repairs
11. Prepare warranty part returns and submissions back to manufacturer's

Qualifications

Must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person, telephone and email. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Service Writer must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
