    What You'll Do in This Position

    Provide management and direction of engineering, procurement, and construction of multiple complex multi million dollar projects critical to SRS Operations. Responsible for a wide variety of less significant projects managed by less qualified Project Managers. Incumbents will typically perform similar duties as the Area Project Manager, but projects managed at this level will typically be slightly less in scope, complexity, and cost as those managed by the Area Project Manager.

    Establish and manage numerous diverse project management teams, providing policy direction, broad program direction, and establishing priorities needed to integrate numerous ongoing area projects. Manage project cost, schedule, scope, and subcontract matrices, while adhering to SRS quality, environmental, and safety objectives. Establish and control project costs, schedule, and technical baselines and provide effective management of project staff and matrix personnel to control baselines. Manage professional and nonexempt employees to include career development, motivation, performance review, and salary administration. Initiate and frequently deliver concise and accurate presentations to internal and external customers regarding project implementation plans, status, changes and new approaches, including complex technical, organizational and financial issues. Conduct significantly complex analysis of problems involving numerous engineering disciplines. Develop new and innovative alternative action strategies enabling the early achievement of milestones. Perform risk analyses and provide decision authority for defining and approving corrective actions and establishing priorities. Manage project efforts to ensure project progress is within schedule, cost, technical, environmental, and legal baselines. Act as an technical project management advisor and consultant to project management teams, peers, less experienced project managers, and SRS senior management, and external customers.

    Security Clearance Information

    SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.     Qualifications We Require

    Bachelor degree in an engineering or environmental discipline

    Qualifications We Desire

    Engineering/project management and personnel management experience preferred.
    Ability to apply and integrate the latest principles and methods of engineering disciplines including design and construction in addition to business disciplines such as procurement, planning, scheduling, cost/budget control. Requires extensive knowledge and application of DOE Order 4700 requirements.
    Comprehensive understanding of work hazards, safety programs, environmental law, legal and business concepts.
    Certification as a Project Management Professional is preferred.
    Completion of the Subcontract Technical Representative certification course is preferred.
