Job summary

The Assistant Town Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting and administrative duties in support of the Finance Director to ensure the proper recording,
maintenance,
and reporting of the Town's financial records in accordance with applicable laws,
regulations,and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position plays a key role in supporting the integrity and transparency of the Town's financial operations.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Town's general ledger and accounting records.
  • Review and process vendor warrants ensuring compliance with Massachusetts General Laws (MGL),Town policies,budgetary limits
