JOB DESCRIPTION

General Surgery Program

14 on 14 off

Day time clinic and surgery, nighttime call

Setting

Critical Access Hospital

Total Beds: 25

With or without ICU? Without Special Care Unit (SCU) only

Average ED call volume:

o 2-3 calls per shift assignment

o 1-2 emergent surgeries per month

Anesthesia Coverage:

o CRNA or Anes 24 hour CRNA 24/7/365

Surgery Staffing

o Typical Crew:

• Circulator 1
• Scrub tech 1
• Anesthesia 1

o GS surgeons are the First Assist for other surgeons, most commonly C-sections & other GYN procedures

• 24/7 call coverage
• Facility has 2 ORs and 1 endscopy room
• Upper and Lower endo is a MUST
• Surgery days and clinic days
• An active ATLS and ACLS is REQUIRED
• Housing: Apartment in close proximity.
