Job summary
This is a temporary exempt As-needed Librarian I position at the San Francisco Public Library. The librarian will provide reference service to patrons of all ages including children teens adults and seniors assist library patrons in using library materials and technology plan conduct programs outreach for children young adults teens and adults meet with educators visit works with various community groups promote use interest Library write reports correspondence may supervise subordinate staff.
- Assists patrons in locating using library facilities materials selecting materials answering wide variety questions.
- Reccommends library materials purchased repaired discarded assigned sections collection suggests which non-circulating material retained.
- Performs reference work research reader advisory prepares detailed bibliographies book lists other information teaches patrons access digital resources.
