    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for managing the Distribution Center (D.C.): building, safety, equipment, personnel, logistics, and process improvement.

    Responsibilities:

    Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for modeling a lean culture of continuous improvement and initiates and participates in process improvement projects and training.
    • Responsible for performance appraisals, coaching, training, motivation, discipline, team-building and any personnel-related duties of D.C. employees and supervisors.
    • Responsible for administering and complying with D.C. safety programs, OSHA and training in order to provide a safe and clean work environment for employees.
    • Responsible for enforcing compliance with regulations concerning various government regulatory agencies, such as FDA, FTC, GMP, EPA, city, state, and federal.
    • Responsible for building security to include weekend opening and/or lock-up.
    • In charge of Workers Compensation policy compliance, documentation, and implementation for all D.C. personnel.
    • Evaluates, creates, and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of the various departments working in the D.C.
    • Acts as afterhours contact for carriers and drivers, if necessary, pertaining to logistics issues.
    • Ensures daily accuracy of inventory and date code compliance and works with the inventory department personnel on creating a more efficient inventory management system.
    • Confers with other supervisors/managers to ensure coordinating of other functions such as production, QA/QC, customer service and inventory management.
    • In charge of strategic planning for the D.C. operations including but not limited to: evaluating workload, hiring additional staff, updating work processes, implementing additional trainingsetc.
    • Interprets customer needs in relation to shipping and assesses their business requirements.
    • Resolves day-to-day or routine problems using defined processes with the Shipping Supervisors.
    • Maintenance of the building and vehicles, ensuring everything is in working condition, contacting appropriate contactors.
    • Performs any other related duties, as may be required by manager.
    Qualifications:

    Youll need the following (minimum qualifications):

    • Bachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • 4+ years related experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical processing operation, and/or FDA regulated industry.
    • Familiarity with inventory control and management.
    • Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and D.C. best practices.
    • Effective training skills
    • Strong analytical, critical/strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on negotiation and conflict resolution.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
    • Must be highly ethical, have strong integrity, and use value-based decision making.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with other departments, leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
    • Self-confident, self-motivated, collaborative professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
    • Servant leader who puts the interests of the broader team and the organizations goals ahead of their own personal agenda.

    A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
