    What is the opportunity?


    As a Senior Software Engineer - partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues by recommending technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.

    What will you do?Provides consulting services on new and strategic initiatives (medium to large of varying complexity)Researches emerging trends/best practices and determines implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategyDevelops feasibility studies and proposals for senior management and executive decisions on large complex projectsTogether with Project Manager, and Solutions Architect determines best mix of development, interfacing applications, third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectivesResponsible for all aspects of joint development and assists with vendor negotiationsProvides input and coordinates with DBA in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases and recommending appropriate DB based on required functionality across multiple systemsDevelops detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, implement and stabilize phases of the project and manage detailed design phases for large projects/ programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues and ensuring solution meets sponsor needs and PLC deliverablesProvides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staffSpearheads joint technical design sessions (internally and with SaaS vendor) via technical iteration of design, development, documentation, testing and deploymentWhat do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

    Experience with managing SaaS solutions and driving continuous improvement with vendorsAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiencesProficiency with data gathering analysis and solution developmentAnalytical skills to understand features and solve problemsKnowledge of COBOL, JCL and DB2Nice-to-have


    Financial services experienceExperience working in Agile development and with work management toolsExperience consuming RESTFUL servicesExperience with building/maintaining a GitHub repository and compile/run GitHub projectsMultiple platforms e.g.
