    Description

    Accounting Manager Role

    Maintain the firm's financial records and oversee fiscal responsibilities. Prepare special reports to showcase financial performance and distribute job cost accounting reports to stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders and Executives to develop annual budgets and consolidate them into a comprehensive budget.
    • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and monthly general ledger postings.
    • Manage computer programming for accounting functions and supervise management report preparation.
    • Distribute job cost accounting reports to Business Unit Leaders.
    • Modify accounting systems and procedures to ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments.
    • Analyze various accounting reports and alert the President to potential variances from budget goals.
    • Communicate with bankers and auditors.
    • Oversee tax preparation and recommend short-term investment strategies for excess cash.
    • Evaluate report accuracy and assign tasks to subordinates.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
    • Oversee banking of receivables and collaborate with computer consultants on hardware and software matters.
    • Perform contract supervision duties:
      • Maintain master files of client agreements.
      • Obtain billing instructions and schedules.
      • Encourage Project Managers to bill accounts monthly.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting roles within a service industry business.
    • Strong understanding of computer applications in simplifying accounting processes.
