Position Overview:
The RN First Assistant ( RNFA ) renders direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by assisting the surgeon in the surgical treatment of the patient.
The responsibility of functioning as first assistant must be based on documented knowledge and skills acquired after specialized preparation, formal instruction and supervised practice.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
RN-Registered Nurse of California
CNOR-Certified Perioperative Nurse
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years of recent relevant experience.
Three years experience as RN in the Operating Room encompassing both the circulator and the scrub roles.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record
Ability to
* prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
* work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

Pay Range is $66.74 to $90.31 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
