Role Summary:
The SAP Industry Consultant will execute stabilization activities for trading and contract functionality within a multi-entity, multi-instance SAP ECC landscape following a merger.
The role is accountable for protecting commodity contract integrity, pricing accuracy, settlement processing, and margin visibility during company code consolidation and first consolidated close.
This is a senior, hands-on execution role requiring direct participation in mock conversions, cutover execution, and post-conversion contract and settlement validation.
Key Responsibilities:
Align and consolidate commodity trading and contract structures across merged company codes and instances
Validate open purchase and sales commodity contracts during migration
Ensure continuity of provisional billing, final settlement, and pricing adjustments
Protect exposure reporting and margin integrity impacted by contract and valuation postings
Identify and resolve discrepancies in contract balances, pricing conditions, and settlement postings
Validate integration between SAP GTM, SD, MM, FI, and CO during mock conversions
Validate GTM interfaces and settlement postings across integrated systems and batch processes
Lead industry validation checkpoints during conversion cycles and cutover execution
Support post-cutover stabilization of trading, settlement, and exposure reporting processes
Required Experience:
10–15 years of SAP experience with deep expertise in SAP ECC industry solutions
Strong hands-on experience with SAP GTM (Global Trade Management) supporting commodity contracts and settlement processes
Direct hands-on participation in 2+ legal entity consolidations, carve-ins/outs, or post-merger ERP integrations involving trading functionality
Demonstrated experience stabilizing SAP GTM in multi-instance or multi-template SAP environments
Strong understanding of GTM integration with SD, MM, FI, and CO
Experience validating open contracts, provisional settlements, exposure balances, and related financial postings during integration efforts
Experience validating GTM-related interfaces in PI/PO or comparable middleware environments
Active involvement in mock conversion cycles and cutover weekends in live production environments
Experience supporting period-end close where trading and settlement postings impacted margin reporting
Experience operating in imperfect data conditions requiring pragmatic resolution
Success Profile:
Understands margin sensitivity in commodity trading environments
Quickly identifies contract, pricing, and settlement discrepancies
Protects transaction continuity and exposure reporting during consolidation
Communicates effectively with Commercial, Trading, Operations, and Finance leadership
Maintains high accountability during conversion and first consolidated close
Environment Expectations:
Multi-entity stabilization within a multi-instance SAP landscape
High trading, settlement, and margin exposure visibility
Extended hours during mock conversions and cutover
Onsite presence required with significant travel
