    Advanced Practitioner Leader Role Scope

    The Advanced Practice Provider will work throughout the Central Region, including Midstate Medical Center and the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Advanced Practice Provider will provide quality, holistic and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in the electrophysiology population and participate in the surgical and medical management of patients to achieve and/or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness. Duties will include, patient management and crisis intervention on the medical and critical care units primarily including, but not limited to, the electrophysiology patient population, as well as discharge planning, and in-patient and emergency department consultations. This position may require assistance in the operating room and skill development with procedures.

    In addition, the Advanced Practice Provider Manager will be responsible for overseeing the practice and personnel of Advanced Practice Providers in the Central Region for cardiology/electrophysiology services. This includes clinical cardiology at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, Electrophysiology throughout the Central Region along with assistance with the Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider group. Responsibilities will include recruitment and retention of advanced practice providers, yearly and ongoing performance evaluations, as well schedule management. The Advanced Practice Provider Manager will report to the Heart and Vascular Institute Central Regional Director and the Central Region Chief of Cardiology.

    Qualifications

    Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
    -
    Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program preferred:

    -
    Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut:

    -
    Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC

    National Board Certification as an Acute Care Advanced Practice Registered Nurse:

    Electrophysiology experience preferred
