    Position Description


    As a Safety Specialist you will work with the safety team to monitor safety programs as well as identify potential hazards and ensure the enforcement of policies to mitigate risks.

    You will assist in safety audits and coordinate emergency response plans safeguarding compliance with OSHA, federal, and state regulations. We are hiring Safety Specialists in the Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA areas. Benefits A positive, employee-centric culture.

    Supports in the development, implementation and monitoring of safety programs approved by the Safety Director Presents safety update training and orientations for new hires and transfer personnel.

    Conducts accident/injury investigations and document appropriately. Complete company daily safety documentation as directed in an office and field setting. Maintains site safety records. Ensures employee compliance with CAL OSHA Standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to all workers on health and safety topics. Ensure that all employees consistently follow established safety protocols. Serves as a point of contact for employee safety inquiries, concerns, and/or suggestions. Attends safety meetings, walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks. Educates employees on safety standards and expectations. Reviews and recommends changes to improve regular activities. Stays up to date with industry best practices, safety trends, and regulatory requirements. Other related duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    3+ years of safety related experience Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OSHA 30 certification within the past 3 years Experience in the construction industry is a plus Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other federal, state, and local safety regulations Experience building partnerships within all areas of the team (Project Management, General Contractors, Superintendents, etc.) Strong work ethic and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to interact with different stakeholders Solid written, verbal, and presentation skills Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT) Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
