    Position Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician - Residential

    Department: Nursing

    Reports To: Director of Nursing Services and Program Director

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Join a dedicated team of substance use disorder treatment professionals

    Seeking a full time Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse to join Tarzana Treatment Centers Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

    Working in a fast-paced environment, incumbent will be a part of a multidisciplinary team including counselors, peer-support specialists, nurses, and medical providers working directly with OTP patients providing individual and group counseling, screening and assessments as well as other duties assigned by the program supervisor.

    This position is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care services to a diverse patient population through the administration of medication, counseling and health maintenance. Assesses patient's /health needs and resources and provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. Functions as charge nurse on the units as designated by Supervisor.

    SALARY RANGE

    $30 - $44 / per hour DOE

    CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
    1. Plans and delivers nursing assessments and interventions, related to medical and psychiatric diagnoses of the patient.
    2. Administers Medications per the treating provider orders and assesses effectiveness, and monitors for side effects.
    3. Completes pre-admission triage and determines medical/nursing appropriateness of admission.
    4. Monitors patient's medication intake consistent with medication policies, practices and standards.
    5. Communicates significant changes in patient's condition in a timely manner.
    6. Documents in patient's chart nursing goals, interventions and clinical outcomes.
    7. Functions as an active member of the treatment care planning team.
    8. Responds to medical emergency situations.
    9. Competently uses equipment necessary for the delivery of patient care including but not limited to: glucometer, AED, bag/mask, oxygen.
    10. Provide Blood Draws (lab draws) as per treating provider orders (additional certification for Blood Draws required for this duty, but not required for the position).
    11. Attends trainings as required for the position.
    12. Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the Director of Nursing or the Program Director.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

    Graduate of an accredited LVN or LPT school or college and licensed to practice in California. Two (2) years recent acute care experience preferred; a Behavioral/Chemical Dependency Setting- required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
