Travel Required :
The Charge Prep - Surgery Billing Specialist reviews medical documents and/or charge tickets as assigned. Identifies, documents and provides follows up on deficiencies.
Receives charge tickets, charge cards, operative logs/circulating slips and/or other source documents from various locations
Monitors and updates billing screens for the Surgery department
Updates Surgery Provider logs and maintains logs to maintain process flow for billing
Communicates with Department of Surgery for missing and unsigned operative notes

1- 3 years prior experience with medical billing, coding, and/or medical records
~ Knowledge of ICD, CPT coding and insurance guidelines
Previous physician billing experience
