    Position Summary:
    The Engineer Technology I is an entry level role within the Technology organization. This is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports. This role does not require any prior product and/or industry knowledge.

    This role is expected to focus on tactical goals which are set by Engineering Manager, in support of the strategic goals set by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).


    Over time, the individual in this role is expected to learn about Gilmores products, design process, manufacturing process, and industries served.

    While some independent work may be assigned to this resource, most tasks will be associated with applications or new product development projects that are being run by senior or lead level engineers.

    Create parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks

    Support Teamcenter Engineering software application

    Research, recommend, and optimize software tools used by Technology organization

    Create product technical documentation, such as test procedures, assembly procedures, inspection procedures, material specifications, coating specifications, quality specifications, ect.

    Assist in creating product design calculations to ensure product can withstand intended use

    Research and apply customer and industry code to product design

    Troubleshoot product issues through the use of root cause analysis tools

    Perform product technical risk assessments

    Support engineering test laboratory

    Effective communication with team and functions


    Required Education:
    BS Degree in Engineering Technology; +2 years of experience


    Required Skills/Experience:
    Below are the minimum requirements for being considered for this entry level role:

    BS Degree in Engineering Technology; +2 years of experience

    Basic understanding of Engineering practices, including design methods and calculations

    Basic understanding of product manufacturing practice, process, and equipment

    Able to read, interpret and/or develop technical documentation

    Able to grasp technical concepts and translate into cost effective solutions

    Must take ownership of assignments and be accountable for completed work

    Self-motivated to complete assignments to a high standard

    Able to execute tasks/projects to defined schedule and budget

    Able to travel both domestically and internationally to meet with customers and project resources

    Natural or corrected vision to read printed materials and computer screen

    Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone, and a computer with keyboard

    Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Includes hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc.

    Work will mostly be performed indoors in a controlled environment. Some exposure to the manufacturing and shop areas, which are open, and not air conditioned.
