    Summary:

    Labor and Delivery is 10 bed LDR unit with an additional 4bed Ante Partum unit that services high risk pregnant patients.Designated as a Level III service provider we care for patientswith higher risk conditions and have a Level III NICU on site. Theservices in L&D are growing and as we add an OB ED with an OBHospitalist, we see the services growing even more. Within thedepartment, we have 3 operating rooms. The nurses provide their ownC-section coverage being highly trained and competent. Thisfacility participates in the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Initiativeto reduce maternal morbidity and mortality in Louisiana. As aresult, the unit provides a high level of care, operating withpolicies grounded in evidence-based practice, patient respect, andempowering women and families through education. We encouragepatients and family involvement with their birth experience, andsupport decisions using compassionate care. This unit is well knownfor its experienced and knowledgeable nurses throughout thecommunity of Lake Charles.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of a school ofnursing
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse inthe State of Louisiana.
    • AmericanHeart Association BLS
