    TRIAL COURT STAFF ATTORNEY/LAW CLERK (Court Counsel's Office)

    (OPS 030-funded)* PART TIME (30 hours per week)


    Description of Work:
    This is professional and highly responsible work conducting legal research and writing.


    Assignments will be primarily Appeals and Criminal work, but may involve legal issues from any division of the Circuit and County Court and administrative issues from the Chief Judge.

    Work is performed under the general supervision of the Court Counsel and assignments are made by the Court Counsel or by the Supervising Senior Staff Attorney, either orally or in writing.

    Contacts are limited primarily to judges, staff attorneys, and other court personnel but may include other attorneys and litigants

    Please Note:
    This is an excellent part-time opportunity for an attorney or third-year law student.

    Because of ethical rules, the individual in this position may not practice in the courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, and the practice of other law is limited.


    Minimum Training and Experience Required:


    While applicants who have graduated from an accredited law school and have obtained membership in The Florida Bar are welcomed, applicants who are in their third year of law school will also be considered.

    The successful applicant will have excellent writing and analytical skills.

    Salary:

    Bar Member - $29.74 Hourly (10% less if not passed Bar) - OPS*temporary position that is renewed annually based on the continued need for the service and funding with no paid time off or sick time but includes health insurance care benefits and flexible hours.
