JOB SUMMARY:To maintain vehicles by conducting preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment within set timeframes for safety and cost-efficiency.
• Perform required annual inspections on all fleet vehicles to adhere to regulations.
• Carry out preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles.
• Perform necessary repairs to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration units.
• Address all vehicle inspection report write-ups promptly.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions according to manufacturer specifications.
• Document all work performed.
• Mentor junior technicians to help in their career advancement.
• Supervise when needed.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing.
• Knowledge of electric systems.
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license (CDL Preferred).

Experience:

• Technical training in Medium/Heavy Duty trucks.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience or 5 years of fleet maintenance experience.

Certifications, Licenses and/or Registrations:

• Annual Inspector Certification.
• Brake Inspector Certification.
• ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
• EPA section 608 and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.

Professional Skills:

• Expertise in vehicle systems and components.
• Expertise in electrical systems diagnosis and repair.
• Expertise in refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair.
• Skills in welding and cutting.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of diagnostic software.
• Must provide own tools.

Physical Demands:

• Various physical activities like sitting, standing, lifting, and reaching required.
• Must be able to operate equipment and tools.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions like wrenches and hand tools.
• Works outdoors frequently.

Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to various conditions like extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
• Non-traditional work hours including nights and weekends.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• May be exposed to high places, fumes, and noise.
