SUMMARY This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Global Revenue team who manage all aspects of BioMarin's revenue accounting and reporting. Strong demand and revenue growth across BioMarin's commercialized products delivered global revenue of nearly $2.1Billion in FY22. This includes recent approvals of pioneering new therapies and anticipated strong growth in the revenue area. This role oversees the revenue recognition for several of these commercialized products under ASC 606 including gross-to-net deductions, revenue accruals, commissions, rebates, and contract reviews. The role will collaborate closely with Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Order-to-Cash and other cross functional teams in an advisory role as it relates to revenue recognition. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review customer contracts and apply the proper accounting treatment based on BioMarin's interpretation of ASC 606 technical accounting research (based on analysis, relevant literature, and conclusions). Document the accounting conclusions in an internal revenue matrix and communicate conclusions to business partners.
  • Proactively lead and/or perform period-end closing and operational activities to ensure revenue journal entries are recorded timely and adequately per US GAAP and internal policies.Respond to ad hoc executive requests related to revenue performance, trends and go-forward expectations; provide input to strategic decisions that affect revenue streams and/or billing principles.
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and commentary for our SEC filings quarterly/annually, including but not limited to disaggregated revenue analysis, results of operations language,
  • Proactively manage internal stakeholder expectations through collaboration with OTC, Commercial, FP&A, Legal, and other internal teams on key strategic areas, including pricing dynamics, contract reviews, revenue policy guidance and decision-making support.
  • Ensure SOX compliance for revenue areas by adhering to internal control requirements and maintaining updated documentation, including risk assessment, as the control environment evolves.
  • Support and/or manage internal and external audit work, including maintenance and updating of internal controls, operational effectiveness testing, financial audits, etc.
  • Support the ongoing business transformation project, understanding and driving the vision, securing necessary resources, and leading the team through change.
  • Develop, recommend, and/or drive innovative process improvements that leverage technology to maximize overall efficiency while maintaining or strengthening internal controls.
  • As the Company introduces new products, lead the design, development, and change management related to revenue accounting.
  • Execute on special projects, as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of SEC guidance and GAAP, specifically ASC 606.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills; demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and grow a high functioning team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and implement necessary adjustments. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or a combination of Big 4 and industry revenue accounting experience; preferably with exposure to Biotech/Pharma.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, conflicting priorities.
  • Experience with SAP ERP system. EDUCATION · CPA and BA in Business or related subject
