    Material and Process Engineer 4 Position Overview:

    Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, nonmetallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.

    Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

    Engineer, Material & Process 4 Principal Accountabilities
    Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.

    Working under general direction from Senior Engineers in a team environment, support manufacturing production of composite components and assemblies ensuring parts, assemblies, and tools meet industry standards and customer requirements.

    Utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools to evaluate customer designs and process concepts and assist in manufacturing process downselect.

    Use Lean/Six Sigma Tools to predict and improve process yield. Examples of these tools include Statistical Process Control, Variable Control Matrix, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.

    Utilize Practical Problem-Solving techniques such as A3, 8D, Root Cause Corrective Action, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, and Parato Analysis to determine the origin of a failure, its impact to overall business, and determine containment and countermeasure actions to eliminate recurrence of nonconformances.

    Other related duties as required due to changes in business processes or customer requirements.

    Experience and Education Requisites:
    Must be a U.S. person per ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines.
    This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or a foreign person per ITAR.
    Bachelor of Science in a relevant field (such as mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering).
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10-14 years of related experience.
    The candidate will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    The individual must be a dedicated and motivated and possess good communication skills with strong process management capabilities and problem-solving skills.

    Experience in planning and manufacturing execution systems within aerospace fields is a plus.
    Experience in CAD based systems, especially CATIA V5 is preferred.
    Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and/or Process Improvement experience strongly preferred.
    Has knowledge of relevant technology and can operate unassisted on routine tasks.
    Must possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
