    Duties


    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    As a/an Printing Specialist, you will:

    • Serve as the Department's expert in digital and conventional printing processes.
    • Serve as customer service printing consultant to furnish technical advice on matters of printing processes including publication sizes; paper grade, weight, and color; assembly construction, binding, folding, and scoring; ink colors, cost and time estimates, and all related printing matters.
    • Serve as the expert in various programs and digital media that output to the printing process.
    • As Department's expert, you will be expected to stay current on professional printing and graphics systems via personal experience, research, and through contacts with other experts in Government and industry.
    • Develop and write printing and binding specifications to meet the sponsor's desired goal in the most efficient and economical manner.
