    Job Description

    Carries cell cultures for manufacturing cells to be used in clinical trials.

    Aids in building collaborations with physicians, PhDs, and other healthcare providers to conduct multidisciplinary studies that impact the overall wellbeing of infants and children.

    This position works together with the Advanced cell Therapy GMP Scientists to evaluate, select, and apply standard scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria to produce experimental advanced cellular therapy products.


    The Advanced Cell Therapy GMP Associate Scientist will:

    manufacture cutting-edge cellular therapy drug products which include the development and validation of procedures including culture and activation of immune cells, develop and perform assays on experimental cellular products for safety, identity, potency, and function.

    Experience


    • 1 or more years of relevant experience
    Preferred Qualifications


    • 2 years of experience in developing and conducting scientific investigations and applying research principles, methodologies, and study design
    • Experience in a FACT accredited facility
    • Master of Science degree preferred.
    Education


    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or other Biological Science

    • Demonstrated ability in utilization of advanced methods, techniques, and procedures in the performance of scientific research involving multiple variables
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team to achieve expected outcomes
    • Knowledgeable in ELISA (enzyme-linked immunoassay), qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction), Flow cytometry, and cell counting methods
    • Strong communication skills with ability to engage others at various levels and will work closely with leadership of the Cell Therapy Team
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple assignments
    Job Responsibilities


    • Perform cellular product processing using multiple processing, cell culture, and separation techniques.
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
    • Carry out quality control testing for qualitative and quantitative analysis on cell therapy products using flow cytometry, gram stains, qPCR, and ELISA.
    • Comply with the facility's standard operating procedures and policies which incorporate the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)/Current Good Tissue Practice (cGTP), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and regulatory standards applicable to cellular therapy product production and analysis.
    • Evaluate, select, and apply standard scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria to identify problems that may adversely affect product or testing performance and follow the Cell Therapies Facility standard operating procedures and policies whenever product processing or analytic testing are not within the defined acceptable criteria and/or levels of performance.
    • Handle fresh and frozen cellular products for shipment and infusion.
    • Other duties as assigned.
