    Description
    OverviewThe Configuration Management Engineer is the vital link between Engineering and Operations.

    Working throughout the organization, this position will be responsible for releasing new product developments as well as upgrades to existing products.

    The Product Engineer will work with teams to deliver world class solutions, ensuring compliance to specification, configuration management, integration into existing systems, and validation of product design.

    Applications include innovative energy storage, battery accessories, electro-mechanical devices, vehicular platforms, etc. which will require the candidate to possess leadership skills and flexibility.

    Alpharetta, GeorgiaResponsibilitiesProduct DevelopmentUtilize the Product Life Cycle (PLC) process to manage new products from cradle-to-graveManage items and product configurations at all levels and coordinate the development of Bill of Material (BOM) using the Arena PLM toolPrepare and submit Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for approval to release design changes to OperationsTransmit released part design changes and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to relevant manufacturing and vendor stakeholdersProvide Manufacturing BOMs to Finance for entry into the JDE ERP systemDevelop timelines for Product Engineering tasks and inform management of performance against plan as part of the PLC processAct as technical resource for all inquiries coming from Business Development or Program Management in matters related to products for Essential PowerSupport engineering efforts to determine the feasibility of selected concepts to meet functional applications, and customer needsEvaluate, document, and implement potential design and process changes to improve product performance, manufacturability, safety or cost consistent with company PLC process requirementsCoordinate and communicate development schedules or design issues throughout the team continuouslyWork in concert with the Lead Designer to ensure technical documentation meets requirementsReview and resolve issues associated with manufacturing, quality, and internal customer expectations

    Program Management:

    Act as PM for projects related to product changes and/or updates required by component obsolescence, component changes, manufacturing improvements, etc.

    for released products (in Production lifecycle)Communicate between the project team and the stakeholdersAct as PM with other departments within the company to ensure others have the necessary information required to meet the projects requirements.

    Follow-up actions between progress review meetingsHandle administrative management tasksParticipate into the Phase Gate and PLC processes and overall commercial strategyQualificationsBachelor of Science in Engineering.

    Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.

    Experience working in a product development environment or related engineering role preferredLicense to practice as a Professional Engineer considered an assetExperience and understanding of one or several of the following areas is considered essential:

    product development cycle in a defence, automotive or industrial environment, lithium energy storage, power and electronics, battery energy storage systems (BESS), quality assurance protocols, design-to-cost methodology, military or commercial standards, proof-of-compliance and safety testingRelevant Experience in Change Management (ECR, ECO)Strong ability to work with multiple products/projects and track product life cycle from planning through launchStrong interpersonal relationship and leadership skillsMust be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications / technical requirementsStrong knowledge of QMS, ISO, industry standards, military or commercial standards and associated proceduresDemonstrated knowledge of project management principlesHighly motivated problem solver with meticulous attention to detailResponsiveness to external and internal customers and a can-do, positive attitude are a mustStrong English language, verbal communication and writing skills required.
