    Mortenson is currently seeking a passionate Senior Safety Engineer Ito implement Mortensons Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors and visitors to the construction work site

    Responsibilities:


    Implement and administer safety program at each worksite for team membersAssist project management team in developing site specific safety program and activitiesFormulate, coordinate and conduct safety orientation and training programsDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.

    Conduct safety work area auditsConduct projects loss control data/document collection and trend analysesAssist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury and Hazard statisticsLead OSHA reporting and posting requirementsMonitor and review subcontractor activities for safety concernsReview Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractorsLead Return to Work and Modified duty assignmentsProvide resource of safety related informationEvaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concernsMaintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards and proceduresServe as resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team members/managementAttend and/or chair safety meetingsOther duties as assignedWork with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, etc.

    Accompany safety, health, insurance and OSHA personnel on work-site toursEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wearEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsHow you will succeed:Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksAbility to work in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety related software programsShown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesActive listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedbackAbility to travelEducation and experience:Bachelors degree in field of safety, occupational health or equivalentMinimum of four years of construction safety experienceIf no Bachelors degree, high school diploma, CHST Certification, OSHA 500 and minimum of 10 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, to include at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant fieldCurrent valid drivers licenseMortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
