    Job Details:


    • Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM with liver call responsibilities

    • Handle other surgical cases when no liver/transplant procedures are scheduled

    • Guaranteed 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts

    • On-call requirement: 1 shift per week and 2 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month

    • Must have strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience (non-negotiable)

    • Must be proficient in MISONIX/CUSA equipment

    • Experience required in transplanting organs into new patients, not just harvesting

    • Must participate in teaching responsibilities with students and new staff

    • Float within scope to meet facility needs as required

    • 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience required

    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (must have at time of submittal), NIHSS (must obtain prior to start)

    • 40 hours of orientation required

    • Must complete EKG and Pharm tests during orientation with maximum 2 attempts each

    • Must be nicotine-free with negative 10 Panel + Nicotine drug screen required

    • Scrub color: Ceil blue

    • Charting system: EPIC

    • All RTO must be submitted at time of application - no later additions accepted

    • Time-sensitive modules averaging 6-15 hours must be prioritized upon assignment confirmation

    This 230-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital specializes in complex transplant procedures including liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants. The facility maintains Magnet status and operates a comprehensive transplant program with 18 operating rooms handling a daily census of 55-60 patients. The organization emphasizes advanced surgical care and maintains strict quality standards with a smoke-free environment and rigorous compliance requirements.
