    Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical conditions of buildings do not deteriorate. Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained. Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains. Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment and related systems.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification

    • Requires a High School diploma or GED.
    • Certification in HVAC preferred.

    Experience

    • Must have 3+ years of experience as Maintenance Technician for commercial property.
    • Advanced knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate with Campus Directors, Teachers, and Staff.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to travel as necessary.
    • 3+ years of experience maintaining and supporting Charter School Facilities.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.
    • Install light bulbs, doors, cabinets, paneling, Formica, carpet, and bulletin boards.
    • Schedule and complete the "Preventative Maintenance Program".
    • Coordinate special projects as directed by the Campus Director.
    • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
    • Paint interior and exterior walls and cabinets; hang wallpaper and pictures; assemble furniture.
    • Set-up, install, repair, and relocate light fixtures.
    • Replace washers, faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; repair leaky faucets and clean clogged drains; install and repair sprinklers.
    • Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
    • Maintain monthly inspection and maintenance of building and HVAC roof motors and fans and replace as needed; clean, grease and paint all equipment used in heating and ventilation.
    • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
    • Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
    • Maintain efficient function of the boiler and water softener; add chemicals or salt as needed.
    • Responsible for alerting the Campus Director of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.
    • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all faculty, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
    • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner. Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook. Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
    • Work within expense limits established.
    • Carry pager/cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
    • Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned.
    • Travel as required.
